Aging & Dark Circles

Dark circles under the eyes are not at all attractive. The problem is that there are a number of reasons that can cause them to appear. In most cases we are talking about aging, heredity and sleep deprivation. While there is not much that we can do when we are faced with heredity, we can counter lack of sleep and the natural aging process.

We all have some degree of dark circles under the eyes. As we age they are going to be more pronounced. This is mainly because of the veins that are located under the skin surrounding our eyes. They are very thin and the skin can easily be damaged. As we are aging these veins are going to start to show. This is also caused because of sun exposure. It will make the skin translucent and much thinner. Combine this with aging, when we lose collagen in the skin and it also tends to become softer. The result is a showing of these veins. To put it simple, as we age the veins are going to show under our eyes. These are the dark circles that we all fear. Our skin will look baggy and puffed.

We must also remember that sleep deprivation has a negative impact on our body. It will only make the dark circles under the eye more visible while also causing puffy eyes. In most situations the puffy eyes are going to disappear when we get enough sleep but if there is constant sleep deprivation being experienced we are going to find it really difficult to get rid of the dark circles that appear under our eyes.

Unfortunately we cannot stop the aging process. Based on our body and how we took care of it, the dark circles are going to appear and they are going to be more or less visible. The good news is that we can delay their appearance. The bad news is that most people do not do this as they do not care. In the event that you want to look as well as possible as you age, there is a need for you to do all that it takes in order to keep the skin under your eyes as healthy as possible. You will need to use special eye creams that are formulated in order to combat puffy eyes and dark circles under eyes and you will need to try to get an adequate amount of sleep every single night. We also recommend that you pay attention to your diet and cut down on alcohol and smoking.
